Paul Williamson, CPT
Personal Trainer | Addison, TX Co-Owner of A&W Fitness
Get Fit, Be Strong, and Feel Better with Holistic Strength & Fitness Coaching
Paul’s minimalistic, no frills personal training style is all about helping people become the strongest, fittest, and most capable versions of themselves. Paul’s specialties are strength & conditioning (getting strong & lean!), mobility, and eliminating aches & pains. His “less is more” approach to fitness emphasizes functional exercise, not clunky machines and unnatural movement.
As a holistic strength & fitness coach, Paul helps his clients get strong and fit – but not at the expense of feeling good too. In addition to being knowledgeable and highly educated in modern exercise science (see education below), Paul also applies many holistic and yogic principles within his training programs. By no means do his training sessions resemble a yoga class, but simply applying basic yogic breathing and movement skills can transform a strength training session by improving performance and reducing strain, wear and tear.
One thing Paul isn’t is a drill sergeant – his goal is to teach and lead his clients to success, not to break them.
Elite personal training, designed specifically for you.
We aren’t all the same, so we shouldn’t all be doing the same things. Paul takes pride in providing more than just one-size-fits-all personal training programs. Instead, he utilizes his experience and expertise in designing programs that address each client’s unique needs and goals. Paul’s goal is not to turn all of his clients into carbon copies, but to help each one become the best version of themselves.
“Trainer Paul is the best thing that ever happened to my life”
What benefits can I expect from my personal training with Trainer Paul?
Since each client will have their own unique starting point and goals, there is a wide variety of benefits that my clients achieve. Here are just a few…
An amazing body that actually performs and feels as good as it looks
Increased strength & mobility
Less stress & physical tension
Elimination of aches & pains
Heightened concentration & body awareness
Effortless peak performance in both body & mind
Body fat reduction
Improved posture and body alignment
Increased muscle mass (if desired)
A new-found ease in handling daily activities
Improved confidence and outlook
Rehabilitation of past injuries
Where do you train?
I train out of my own personal training gym in Addison, TX, called A&W Fitness (www.a-wfitness.com). Since all we do is personal training, the setting is completely private, and there are no memberships to buy.
With less distractions and a space designed specifically for personal training (and small group training), you can focus on nothing but getting the results you came for.
Experience & Education
I began my personal training career about 10 years ago with 24 Hour Fitness, then spent a few years training at Gold’s Gym before I went on my own and trained at various personal training studios as an independent personal trainer.
I found the atmosphere much more conducive to a better client experience in smaller gyms dedicated purely to personal training, but never found one that was set up ideally to suit my own training style. This is why I decided to open A&W Fitness in 2011, and I haven’t looked back since.
Here is a short summary of my education background:
California University – Studied Fitness & Wellness as an undergrad and am currently nearing completion of my master’s degree in Exercise Science & Health Promotion, with a specialty in Performance Enhancement & Injury Prevention
National Academy of Sports Medicine – Certified Personal Trainer (CPT)
Cooper Institute – Certified Personal Trainer (CPT)
Cooper Institute – Certified Bio-Mechanics Specialist
Apex Fitness – Certified Personal Trainer (CPT)
Your Choice of 1 on 1 or Semi-Private Personal Training
We all have different needs, so I provide 2 levels of personal training to fit your needs. I’m all about personalization, so the only option I don’t offer is large classes.
If you have extensive rehabilitation needs or simply prefer the 1 on 1 setting, I do of course offer traditional personal training so I can give you my undivided attention. If, however, your goals are more straight forward and you don’t mind training with 1-2 other trainees, then semi-private personal training might be for you.
Unlike a large group fitness class, each person in a semi-private personal training session will still get their own fully customized workout, planned and tailored to their own specific needs and goals. For many people, this is the best of both worlds – the personalization of 1 on 1 training combined with the fun and camaraderie of having 1-2 exercise partners.
